This is actually a reply to a post from you that I've just seen on the Friends' Feed of byslantedlight and the system wouldn't let me leave a reply to your comment. I wanted to say that I sympathise, as I have the same feeling every time I put one of my Professionals fan fiction pieces in front of other people (thanks to byslantedlight posting my efforts for me). I can see all the faults, things I could have done differently or better, even though I've been happy with the writing up till its release. Some things I can't re-read for a very long time. And having had several decades of silence or negative comment over my efforts, it's recently been amazing to find via AO3 or LiveJournal that some people have actually enjoyed what I've written. So all I can say is stick at it. We can't achieve perfection (which is what I always want), so all we can do is learn from what we've done and try to do our best every time. It's difficult to know whether or not to revise a piece of work that's already 'public', and that's a question facing me with some of my very early stories. I think that if you feel really strongly about it, then redo it, but often it may be better to move on, and accept that some things work better than others. I hope you manage to resolve your dilemma re. your fanvid.
