Tonight I finished The Homeland Affair by ajsqdaway / AJ Burfield. This is the story
thehappygirl53 recommended in response to my post asking for recs of long MFU fics.
The Homeland Affair is an exciting, plotty fic that finds Illya stranded in the USSR with few resources to make his way home. I don't think that setting was rendered very realistically, and there were a couple of noticeable inconsistencies, but the story was still fun. In addition to the lively plot, I liked this fic's take on the classic MFU plot element of the innocent. 45,489 words. Gen.
