What Genre?

A bit of prattle from an obscure corner of the Internet:

Olly says, "In Act One, our heroes can't stand each other."

Olly asks, "Will they have a fistfight and then become fast friends, or will they slowly realize their attraction to each other and live happily ever after? What genre is this?"

Olly says, "Well, this is slash fiction based on a macho action show. So maybe they will have a fistfight, become fast friends, then slowly realize their attraction to each other and live happily ever after."

Love it! Yes, that is definitely a trope that has arisen once or twice in Pros fic!! *g*

Hmmn, here's a question - of that trope-genre, which fic that you've read so far would be your favourite? The first that springs to mind for me is Fruit of the Spirit by Cherilynn (which I'm delighted to find has been put online for new Pros fans to find - yeay and thrice yeay!

I'm having trouble thinking of fics where B and D can't stand each other at the beginning, except for Should Harm Befall Us from this year's Big Bang, which inspired the comments above, and This Charming Man by PR Zed. The former I haven't finished yet. The latter is a pretty good short fic, which according to the notes, was written to fill the "rivals to lovers" square in trope bingo. There isn't a fistfight in it, though.
