I'm making progress on a new Pros vid after roughly six months of alternating false starts and apathy. I have a point of view and a brainstorming grid, and I've begun filling in clips. Now the only question is: Will people still love me if I use a country song?

Okay, not the only question. There's also the question of whether I can resist several obvious puns that would totally ruin the mood of my vid.

I would say, if you like the combination of Pros and a country song, why not? I mean, you should make the song if you love the combination and watch what'll happen. Me, I love country songs. :-)

But I can't answer the second question.

Excellent news! There are lots of Pros vids with country songs — I think it depends as much on the vidder and their ideas as on the song. If you're still capturing our lads, then that's the important thing. Well, imho. *g* And you've done pretty well with that so far! *vbg*

ETA — and my first instinct was to think "yeah, I can't help with the second question either" *g* — and then I thought, hang on, I wonder what she means by "puns" in a songvid... cos I really like vids that match the images to the lyrics, so I hope that's not what you mean by puns! But I'm guessing you mean actual puns... *g*

They are visual puns that would involve matching images to the lyrics in a way that plays on possible double meanings of the words. I certainly intended to match the images to what the words actually mean in context.
